Twenty-seven years engineering systems. A risk manager by temperament, not a trader by spirit. This is what I built.
Quanta Privé is a private quantitative practice, run solo, on personal capital. This page is why it exists.
01 The temperament
Twenty-seven years of building software. Most of it in domains where a mistake is expensive and a systems failure is unrecoverable: low-latency video delivery, AI, real-time infrastructure. Risk management is not a discipline I learned for trading — it's the operating system I've always run on.
Personally, I hate taking risks. What I love is the upside a well-built machine can capture when it reads the market correctly. Those two things together define why this exists: I would never be a discretionary trader. I would gladly build the machine that trades on my behalf, if the machine is disciplined enough to preserve capital first and earn return second.
02 The vision, unchanged from day one
The original goal: an open, plugin-based architecture that runs endless trading strategies across multiple brokers. A common layer for market data, order routing, risk, and monitoring. Broker-dependent layers for each venue (IBKR, Alpaca, and whatever comes next). A strategy layer where every bot exposes itself to the engine through the same interface.
The whole thing is designed to be extensible without touching the core. Add a strategy: implement the interface, plug it in, the core handles the rest — risk, attribution, kill-switch, reconciliation, all of it. Add a broker: write one adapter, every existing strategy can now trade there.
That vision hasn't shifted in years. It's what everything on this site sits on.
03 The honest self-assessment
I am not a trader in my spirit. I am an engineer who built a trading machine because I believed a good AI-plus-risk-discipline system could compound where discretionary trading cannot.
A discretionary trader reads the market, has intuition, takes bets. I don't. I build the machine that reads the market with statistics and discipline, then I supervise it — retiring what doesn't work, promoting what does, and never letting my own conviction override the data. My edge is that I am *institutionally patient* about killing things that fail, in a way most human traders find hard.
04 The multi-disciplinary requirement
Building this required three disciplines at once. AI was my strongest going in — enough that I could tell what would work and what was pattern-matching noise. Engineering was natural — twenty-plus years shipping production systems. Trading I learned deliberately, treating it as a systems problem rather than a market-reading problem.
Along the way I studied how institutional and HFT firms actually operate — what data they consume, what infrastructure they run, what disciplines they enforce, what failure modes they engineer against. That study shaped the platform more than any single strategy did.
Some of the strategies here are constrained by not being on institutional infrastructure. Given that infrastructure, several would extend materially.
05 What Quanta Privé is, and what it isn't
Quanta Privé is a private practice. Personal capital only. Not a fund, not a service, not a solicitation. The principal is not licensed to manage external money and does not intend to be. Everything on this site is a public record of what one person has built and continues to build, using their own money, in the open.
It exists in public because building in public is the truest test of an operator's discipline. Retirements are announced. Withdrawn backtests are marked as withdrawn. Losing years are shown alongside winning ones. That is the point — not an investor pitch.
If the work is interesting to the small number of people who understand what it takes to build something like this, that is a good enough audience.
06 Where to go from here

For real numbers — live paper-fill P&L, honest backtests, retired-strategy log, placebo validations — see Track Record.
